The Himalayas meet the Rocky Mountains…

Jai Hanuman Kirtan’s music is a hybrid of east & west influences. Lyrics are traditional bhakti yoga mantras sung in a Call & Response format. Music is influenced by bluegrass, folk rock & the blues & intended to act as a kind of syrup by which the mantra-medicine may "go down" (become internalized). :)

These songs were performed & recorded by Hanuman Das in live takes. He played acoustic guitar or harmonium while singing & playing foot percussion, then added bass & lead guitars in subsequent takes.

His late beloved wife, Hillary Willhite (1948-2014, Rest In Peace Blessed Immortal Soul) sang harmony & response vocals. A responsive chorus is a traditional aspect of Call & Response Kirtan.

His lovely wife, Julia Ivanovna Willhite, created the CD covers, art & graphics. She lovingly & generously gave of her time, energy & support.

Jai Hanuman Kirtan’s music is all natural, using only real instrumentation & undoctored vocal performances. No computerized instruments, e.g., drum machines, synthesizers, sequencers or sampling were used.

Recorded, mixed & mastered by Hanuman Das in a small-budget home studio.
